Research Interest:
Research interest of Dr. Nivedita Chakraborty straddles the boundary between classical sedimentology, applied sedimentology and basin analysis. She is interested in Cretaceous marine and non-marine sedimentation pattern, and their interaction with biota. Currently, she is studying palaeodepositional changes across the Permo-Triassic boundary in Raniganj Basin (Eastern India). She has worked in different Proterozoic and Phanerozoic Basins in India, and modern depositional environments along the East Coast of India.
