IKS Cell
An IKS Cell in a college typically refers to an Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Cell, which is an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, and coordinated through UGC and IKS Division, to promote awareness, understanding, and integration of traditional Indian knowledge with modern education.
An IKS Cell is a dedicated unit of our college that:
- Encourages study, research, and documentation of India’s traditional knowledge systems.
- Integrates Indian Knowledge Systems into modern curricula, especially NEP 2020-aligned.
- Organizes lectures, workshops, and exhibitions on topics like Ayurveda, Vastu, Sanskrit, Indian mathematics, philosophy, metallurgy, architecture, music, education, etc.
- Promotes interdisciplinary research in IKS areas like agriculture, medicine, engineering, linguistics, and arts.
Core Objectives of an IKS Cell in a College
- Awareness Generation: Organizing student activities and events to popularize Indian knowledge systems.
- Curriculum Integration: Helping faculties blend IKS concepts into modern science, technology, and humanities education.
- Research and Documentation: Encouraging faculty and students to explore ancient Indian texts and practices.
- Skill Development: Offering certificate courses and workshops related to Indian arts, health sciences, or philosophy.
- Collaboration: Working with national IKS centers, local practitioners, and other institutions.
