About the Department
Computer Science plays an important role in our day to day life of digital revolution. To cater the rising need of a degree in Computer Science, this department has been established in the year 2015 with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Computer Science.
Three year / four year B.Sc Hons. course is taught here under affiliation of University of Calcutta. As per University norms, at the starting, it was a yearly Three years course (under 1+1+1 system). From 2018, three years choice based credit system (CBCS semester system) was introduced with inclusion of many additional subjects. Currently we are offering four years B.Sc. Hons/Major with research along with an advanced syllabus (under NEP-CCF semester system). We also offer Generic/Minor , IDC (Inter Disciplinary Course) for students of the departments other than Computer Science.
The department is equipped with cutting edge laboratories (Hardware & Software) and ICT class rooms (with projector).
This is the 2nd govt. college in Kolkata to offer B.Sc degree in Computer Science. We welcome bright and motivated students to join with us to carry out our journey.
