Political Science Activities
- The Department motivates the students to pursue higher studies and encourage them to participate in several curricular and co-curricular activities throughout the academic sessions.
- On 6th December, 2016, the Department of Political Science, in collaboration with the departments of Bengali, English, Philosophy and Sanskrit, organized a UGC-sponsored State Level Seminar on ‘Women’s Empowerment and Higher Learning’ in the college.
- On 7th March, 2019 a Cultural Programme was organized by the Department, along with the Department of Philosophy, to commemorate International Women’s Day.
- Besides, the students of the Department are enthusiastic enough in presenting posters and participating in debates, group-discussions, recitation and actively participates in the various Cultural programmes of the College like International Women’s Day, International Mother Language Day, Rabindra Jayanti programme etc.
- Our students are part of the Electoral Literacy Club of the College and participates in various programmes, events and competitions organized by the Electoral Club in association with the Bhowanipur Constituency of South Kolkata Election Office.
- Our students actively volunteers in several NSS programmes and various social works like Tree Plantation programme, environmental awareness programmes, several outreach programmes organized at adopted slum of the College, Nutritional Awareness programmes for underprivileged children/ lactating mothers outside the college campus.
- Our students also participate in Annual Sports Day and win prizes in various sports categories and also actively participate in Annual Cultural Programme of the College – AURA and takes part in recitation, dance and essay competitions.
- The students of the Political Science department organize Freshers’ Welcome programme for the newly admitted First year students and also celebrates Teachers Day and Farewell Programmes for the final year students.
