Teaching Experience :

Dr. S. Chakrabarti joined teaching career in government colleges under the West Bengal Education Service (WBES) and got posted as a Lecturer in Geology in Durgapur Government College. His main interest in teaching has remained Applied Geology with specialization in Environmental Geology, Hydrogeology, and Engineering Geology. He completed his Ph.D. in service in 2005. He also teaches the compulsory subject of Environmental Science that imparts environmental awareness and education to young aspiring graduates in the undergraduate (B.A. Hons / B.Sc. Hons) programmes of different universities.

He has been an active Member of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) as well as Member of different Postgraduate Councils, Research Councils, and Syllabus Committees of different Universities like Burdwan University, Kalyani University, Calcutta University and Presidency University. He is also a registered Ph.D. guide in both Geology and Environmental Science under the Calcutta University. He is also a regular examiner of M.Phil. programmes of Jadavpur University and Kalyani University and Ph.D. programme of Kalyani University
